Both puffy eyes and dark circles under the eyes can pose problems, making one feel unattractive. So how do you get rid of them? The solutions are numerous. But before anything else, you should try to figure out what the cause is.
Finding the cause
A lot of things can be causing dark circles to appear under your eyes. It could be a medical issue. Perhaps it’s because of a season allergy or some other kind of allergy you’re not yet aware of, because of your diet or a hormone problem. Another cause can be PMS.
It’s also possible that this is a hereditary thing and there’s really nothing you can do about it. In this case, you can try to conceal the circles with makeup or just adapt to the situation and live with it.
Also, you may discover that dark circles appear under your eyes because of a nasal congestion. As soon as you treat this, they’ll disappear.
Now that you at least have an idea of what causes those unattractive dark circles to appear under your eye, as long as it’s not hereditary, you can try to find solutions.
Try to eat healthy. It’s important to have a balanced diet, to get all the nutrients your body needs and to avoid unhealthy additives.
Make sure you get plenty of sleep. A lot of times, the problem is that your body is deprived of sleep so sings start to show. Try to organize your day in such a way that you can get enough sleep. Don’t go too bed too late, even if you don’t have to wake up early in the morning.
Drink lots of water to keep your body hydrated. You’ll notice that your skin will look healthy and you’ll look more beautiful in the morning.
Try some natural remedies. For example, put cucumber slices on your eyes to rejuvenate the skin. You can also try putting potato juice on a cotton ball and using that or to put raw potato slices on your eyes. Cool teabags can also help but not just any kind of tea is ok so try chamomile.
Limit your smoking and drinking. It will be good for your health and it will also help with your aspect.
Another thing you can do is exercise your facial muscles to improve circulation. You may think you look silly but nobody else has to see you.
Don’t sit too close to the screen. Your monitor or laptop should sit at a distance of at least 20” and slightly below eye level.
And let’s not forget about stress which can impact your life and appearance in more than one way. Try to reduce the stress in your life. Maybe you can listen to some relaxing music or be more calm.
And if nothing seems to work or you don’t have time to try any of these remedies, you can hide the dark circles with makeup. Use concealer under your eyes but make sure it’s the right shade. Avoid oil-based cosmetics as they can enhance the circles even more instead of hiding them and remove your makeup every night.
