Winter brings with it harsh wind which can dry the skin and cause all sorts of problems. Of course, snow is great and it’s refreshing to have some low temperatures but you also have to think of how you’re going to take care of your skin. Here are some tips and suggestions.
One thing you can do to make sure you have great skin is drink a lot of water. This way your skin will always look great and won’t get dry. It’s a tip you can use all year long, not just during winter.
Moisturizing facial masks are also wonderful. Make sure you use a mask at least once a week. Also, if you notice you have dry skin or dry patches, don’t peel it.
Sunscreen is not something you only use during summer. It’s also indicated to use sunscreen during winter. Just because you don’t see the sun doesn’t mean it’s not there. So make sure you use it every day and that you apply it every time you go out.
It’s very important to remember to moisturize your skin. Winter means low levels of moisture in the air so you have to take care of that somehow. So use lotions and masks on a daily or weekly basis.
One thing to remember when prepping your bath is that hot water is dehydrating. So don’t turn up the heat in the tub or shower, even if it’s very tempting. Also, coat your skin with essential oil immediately after getting out of the shower or tub.
Even if you might not necessarily like it, you have to wear gloves during winter in order to protect your hands. If not, your hands will get dry and the skin will start to crack.
I’m sure you’ve noticed that during winter you tend to get out of shape and even your skin starts to look bad. That’s because you probably get less exercise and you don’t move as much as in the summer. It’s why it’s important to always keep moving and to try to exercise more, even if it’s cold outside.
